WHAT A WAY TO TRAVEL
Ursi and Armando bought their monster mobile home in their native Switzerland.
Before heading off on their world adventure they decked out the inside of their home-to-be, with a kitchen, bathroom and bedroom areas with double bed and wardrobes.
Leaving Switzerland, the first country they travelled to was Morocco, before arriving in Australia. Ursi and Armando are spending a year in Australia, travelling through each state, following the coast and then through the middle for a taste of the Australian outback.
They had great fun staying with us here at Cairns Holiday Park, and enjoyed talking to guests about their adventures and their unique home! As you can imagine, they have posed for many a photo whilst on the road, however were more than happy for us to take a pic.
Next they are off to Japan, then Russia and then Mongolia. Good luck guys, we are all so envious of your adventures– what fun!

“On Monday we were picked up by a bus from AJ Hackett to take us to the rainforest to go on the Minjin Swing and...maybe...bungy jumping. The view around the AJ Hackett hut is amazing, completely surrounded by the rain forest. We were quickly convinced upon our arrival that we had to do a bungy jump or we would seriously regret it, so we signed up for a swing and a jump. The Minjin Swing is a device where you are harnessed to a cable, lying on your stomach, which is pulled back so you are hanging 45 metres in the air. When you release the swing it is a huge rush! Your stomach drops as you reach speeds of up to 120 km/h in 3.5 seconds. It was better than any roller coaster I have ever been on and was very worth it! We then had a break and some refreshments at the bar as we watched others throw themselves off the 50 metre bungy tower in various styles. AJ Hackett have a 'jump menu' which offers 16 different jump styles that you can choose to try when you jump. These range from the classic swan dive right through to riding a BMX bike off the platform.
As we made our way up the stairs, I couldnt help but notice how very high we were getting. For someone who has a fear and hatred of ledges, bungy jumping was something completely out of my comfort zone but I have always wanted to try it. As I climbed higher I began to wonder why I would ever want to try this, but nevertheless we made it to the top. If I wasn't so terrified I am sure I would have appreciated the spectacular view more.
Of course it took Andrew all of 3 seconds to launch himself skyward from the platform, opting for a swan dive for his first jump. When it came to my turn I didn't think I could even make it to the ledge, however the wonderfully encouraging staff on the tower managed to convince me to shuffle out to the edge to at least get a photo. After about 10 minutes of encouragement, I was in tears and was really convinced that there was no way I was jumping off that ledge. They pulled me back to safety and asked me if I wanted to give it one more try, as they pointed out how much I did not want to walk back down the stairs. I decided to try again, only this time, as soon as I was near the ledge I closed my eyes. This was much more effective. It wasn't a pretty jump, or even a jump really, but I did it.”
